About the Multimedia Center

In January 2001 I was hired to create the Multimedia Center and since then I have been the Director of the Multimedia Center of the School of Education at The City College of the City University of New York.

The Multimedia Center consists of two adjacent rooms located in the North Academic Center: NA 4/221 (PC) and 4/216 (MAC). Currently, a SmartBoard, 30 PC desktops, two scanners, and two printers are available in 4/221 while 4/216 has 14 iMac desktops, 20 MacBook laptops, 49 iPads, seven iPods, several digital cameras and camcorders (different models), DVD/VHS combo, DVD/DV/HD combo, VHS recorder, an ELMO document reader, and a scanner.

The Multimedia Center assists to infuse technology into School of Education courses. Faculty can take advantage of this important resource and reserve the Center to spend time with their students on state of the art software and hardware. For example, students are introduced to Electronic Teaching Portfolios, TaskStream, and the video component of edTPA. Students  receive support for their assignments during open lab hours. The technology skills learned, as a result of these experiences in the Multimedia Center, are transferred to classrooms by pre- and in-service teachers.

I enjoy supporting students, faculty, and staff to use technology in different ways to enrich their learning and teaching experience.
